About
About the Artist
I am Victoria Douglas (they/them), an illustrator, cartoonist and general multicreative from deep in the heart of the corn-pocked midwest. I teach at the Columbus College of Art & Design, where I cover skills like digital illustration, traditional pen and ink comics, and introductory programming for games in Unity.
I also run Halftone Hospital, a repository of free assets and digital resources for cartoonists and other illustrators. I've also branched out into accessible, 3D-printable tools for supporting traditional comics. Read more about the mission of Halftone Hospital through the link.
My work is science-fiction forward, with notes of exhausted wit. I've done work for incredible organizations like Equality Ohio, Cartoon Crossroads Columbus, Sekaicon, and Tekko.In addition, my debut comic series CINNAMON was published with Behemoth Comics (now Sumerian).
I'm always available for new opportunities, so don't hestitate to reach out.

When I'm not making something new, I enjoy making lists about the things I enjoy. I keep busy with kendama, making noise with Bitwig, and staying a sweaty gamer. I've convinced three cats to hang around my place, and I love cooking with my partners Samantha and Mars.
About this site
I've maintained my own website since 2016, when I came across the concept of Jamstack and static site generators. The first iteration was in Jekyll, before moving to 11ty in 2018 when it was first released.
The current version is made with 11ty, and my CMS is the note-taking app Obsidian, parsed for 11ty with Enveloppe. I've made the switch to Tailwind and DaisyUI for styling, and deploy through Netlify. You can check out the entire codebase if you want.
